Other notary’s activities

Based on special acts the notary also performs other activities:

  • Court commissioner in accordance with Act No. 161/2015 Coll. Code of Non-contentious Civil Procedure – A district court will authorise a notary to act and decide in inheritance proceedings according to the schedule. A court will authorise a notary who resides in the court district and who was specified by the proposer in the proposal for document redemption within document redemption proceedings. If such proposal for document redemption does not specify any notary, the court will authorise a notary in the court district by a random choice. Decisions issued by the notary and acts performed by the notary based on the court authorisation are the decisions and the acts of first instance.
  • Certifying person according to Act No. 95/2019 Coll. on information technologies in public administration – Issuance of outputs from information systems of public administration in paper form with a certification clause
  • Person performing conversion in accordance with act No. 305/2013 Coll. on e-Government – Conversion from paper to electronic form of documents or conversion between various electronic formats of documents so that the new document had the same legal effects and that it could be used for the same legal purpose as the original document. The new document created by such guaranteed conversion with certification clause attached inseparably has the same legal effects and can be used just like the original document.

In connection with the performance of notarial activities, the notary can provide legal advice, prepare other documents, administer estates and represent the clients in land registry proceedings in connection with administration of estates.
